""Pau Hana" captures a tranquil moment I observed one afternoon at Diamond Head Lookout—a surfer walking along the beach, carrying her surfboard. The scene embodies the relaxed Hawaiian lifestyle, where the end of a busy day transforms into a peaceful escape by the sea.
 
The phrase "Pau Hana" means the peaceful, joyful time after work when one can unwind and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. That’s what this hand-illuminated print celebrates.
 
First is printed on archival matte paper. From there I apply my illuminated paint, makeup being the main ingredient, which will illuminate the photo and bring it to life.
